the helm approach
I BELIEVE
All too often we override what we really need; we push harder, we keep going. We don’t listen when our bodies are screaming at us to rest, to step back, to just stop and recentre – because we’ve forgotten how to hear. It’s a fast track to burnout.
By bringing ourselves back into our bodies, we can function with more ease. We can think clearly, feel fully and perform at our peak, in whatever area it might be that matters to us the most. By making friends with our bodies and being able to really understand what we need, we are better able to navigate our lives and be truly present.
DISCOVER BALANCE
I work to re-centre and re-balance you, getting you out of your head and back into your body. My approach is truly encompassing, drawing upon tools from yoga, breathwork and other body-based practices along with psychology to balance body and mind.
Because working well doesn’t mean working faster or longer – it means working in a way which is healthy and productive, and above all, makes you feel good.
Know yourself
What do you need? What is non-negotiable in your life? What creates balance and what pushes you out of it?
Resistance
What do you avoid? Is it the obvious like change or criticism? Or is it something more complex?
Boundaries
What levels and type or boundaries do you want and need? Do your boundaries need to be built up? Broken down? Both?
Resilience
Build and maintain resilience. How can we ensure that the difficulties of life do not lead to overwhelm and burnout?
Openness
What are you clinging to that no longer applies? This may be uncomfortable, but it will be fulfilling.
‘After an incredibly stressful few months, I attended a restorative workshop with Katie as I knew that I could trust her in a difficult time. Her guidance is clear, kind and confident’
